Questa
unità èstata costruita in Olanda dal cantiere navale
Royal Schelde in stretta collaborazione con la Marina olandese. È
stata varatail 13.07.1978 ed entrata servizio il 29.10.1980 con il
nome " BANKERT ". Nel 1992, è stata acquistata
dalla Marina ellenica insieme ad altre due dello stesso tipo. Quetsa
fu consegnata alla Marina Ellenica il 14/05/1993 a Den Helder e ribattezzata
HS «AEGEAN», con il primo Comandante il Comandante K.
Anastasato H.N. Ha navigato in Grecia il 19 luglio 1994. Dall'8 luglio
2008 all'8 settembre 2010 sono stati eseguiti lavori di Mid-Life Modernization
(MLM) sulla Fregata dai cantieri greci S.A. (INAE) di Skaramangkas,
nell'ambito dell'ammodernamento dei suoi sistemi.

The
ship was built in Holland by the Royal Schelde Shipyard in close cooperation
with the Dutch Navy. It was launched in 13/07/1978 and put into operational
use in 29/10/1980, under the name «BANKERT». In 1992,
Hellenic Navy decided her bought, together with another two of the
same type. The ship was delivered to Hellenic Navy in 14/05/1993 in
Den Helder and was renamed to HS «AEGEAN», with first
Commanding Officer the Commander K. Anastasato H.N. It sailed in Greece
on 19 July of 1994. From 8 July of 2008 to 8 September of 2010 Mid-Life
Modernization (MLM) work was carried out on the Frigate by the Greek
shipyards S.A. (INAE) in Skaramangkas, in the context of upgrading
its systems.
