STORICHE
Questa nave fu impostata nel 1930 ma a causa della grave crisi economica fu completata nel 1936 per conto della POOL SHIPPING, in origine era denominata NORTHWICK . Il 3 aprile 1941 mentre si trovava in navigazioe a S.W. di Reykjavik fu attaccata ed affondata da un siluro lanciato da un sommergibile tedesco, nella posizione 58 .21' N - 27°59' W

INFO
Launched in 1930 as NORTHWICK and laid up unfinished due to the Great Depression. Completed in September 1936 as Alderpool for Pool Shipping Co Ltd (Sir R. Ropner & Co Ltd), West Hartlepool. At 00.42 hours on 3 April 1941, U-46 (Endrass) attacked the convoy SC-26 for a second time southwest of Reykjavik and observed one hit on the Alderpool (Master Tom Valentine Frank, OBE) in station #11. The ship was abandoned and was finished off by U-73 behind the convoy with a coup de grâce at 03.28 hours the same day. The master, 36 crew members and two gunners were picked up by Thirlby and landed at Loch Ewe.
