INFORMAZIONI STORICHE

Nata come RAGNA IV per il danese Ole Sunders, questa goletta a strallo divenne SABINE intorno agli anni Cinquanta, momento in cui battè bandiera svedese.Tra il 1957 e il 1960 navigò in Mediterraneo, tra il sud della Francia e la Grecia. Il nome ORIANDA le fu probabilmente attribuito in quel periodo.
Tra il 1981 e il 1986 è appartenuta a Neal Peart e navigò ai Caraibi, poi divenne di Peter Philip che la adibì a charter con base a Tortola.
Nel 1988 subì un incendio, ma venne ricostruita nelle sue parti bruciate (tuga, sala macchine e quartiere poppiero). Divenne successivamente della famiglia Benloch e tra il 2009 e il 2010 fu restaurata presso la Tecnomar di Fiumicino.
ORIANDA è costruita in tavole di fasciame su una robusta ossatura di quercia, degna di imbarcazioni di dimensioni superiori.
Completato un lungo refitting agli inizi del 2010 che le è valso il premio come barca più bella durante il concorso Vele d’Epoca di Napoli è a disposizione per indimenticabili crociere nel mediterraneo.

HISTORICAL INFO

Established as RAGNA IV for the Danish Ole Sunders, this sheathed schooner became SABINE around the 1950s, at which time it flagged the Swedish flag. Between 1957 and 1960 it sailed in the Mediterranean, between the south of France and Greece. The name ORIANDA was probably attributed to it at that time.
Between 1981 and 1986 it belonged to Neal Peart and sailed to the Caribbean, then became Peter Philip who made it a charter with a base in Tortola.
In 1988 it suffered a fire, but was rebuilt in its burnt parts (deckhouse, engine room and aft quarter). Later it became part of the Benloch family and between 2009 and 2010 it was restored at the Tecnomar of Fiumicino.
ORIANDA is built in planks on a sturdy oak frame, worthy of larger boats.
Completed a long refit in early 2010 which earned her the award for the most beautiful boat during the Naples Vele d’Epoca competition is available for unforgettable Mediterranean cruises.
