Il 18 dicembre del 2004, alle ore 21.00 circa la nave partì da Palermo per Napoli con 471 passeggeri , alle 23.00 circa a causa di un'avaria all'impianto elettrico si ebbe un lack out dei motori . La nave si trovò in balia delle onde e con il mare molto agitato. I bruschi movimenti comportarono un violento urto tra due automezzi sistemati nel garage che provocarono un incendio. Il sistema antincendio automatico riversò nella stiva una gra quantità di acqua che spense le fiamme ma provocò anche l'inclinazione di circa 20° della nave. Fortunatamente il personale di macchina riusci a far ripartire i motori la nave potè rientrare a Palermo dove giunse alle 8:00 di mattina.Tutti i 471 passeggeri sbarcarono tramite le scalette dei vigili del fuoco, non riuscendo a causa dell'inclinazione ad aprire i portelloni.

Il 29 maggio 2009 la nave ha subito un altro incidente, alle ore 3:16 del mattino si trovava a circa 15 miglia al largo di Ustica in direzione Palermo proveniente da Napoli, all'improvviso si è sprigionato un incendio all'interno del garage le cui cause attualmente sono ancora da accertare .Fortunatamente i 516 passeggeri a bordo, ed i 53 membri dell'equipaggio hanno tempestivamente abbandonato la nave con le scialuppe e gli autogonfiabili. Non vi sono state vittime solo una trentina di feriti lievì che sono stati ricoverati in ospedale o medicati in porto per stati di shock o ferite da caduta riportate durante le fasi del salvataggio.
