INFORMAZIONI
STORICHE
Questa nave è entrata in servizio nel 1972 con Flagship Cruises, ed era denominata VENTURE ISLAND. Nel 1974 fu venduta alla P & O Princess Cruises con la gemella SEA VENTURE, e furono rinominate rispettivamente ISLAND PRINCESS e PACIFIC PRINCESS. Queste due navi sono state protagoniste della sit com " The Love Boat "anche se la più utilizzata è stata la PACIFIC PRINCESS. La ISLAND VENTURE nel 1999 fu venduta alla Hyundai della Corea del Sud e ribattezzata HYUNDAI PUNGAK e fu utilizzata per il trasporto dei pellegrini della Corea del Sud ai siti religiosi in Corea del Nord. Fu poi rinominata PLATINUM e subì grandi lavori di restailing tra il 2001 - 2003. Dal 2003 rinominata DISCOVERY la nave è gestita dalla Voyages compagnia di crociera di Discovery Harwich, Inghilterra il cui scopo sono prevalentemente viaggi di scoperta, e vende queste crociere prevalentemente agli inglesi, americani, canadesi, australiani, neozelandesi e sudafricani.
This vessel entered service in 1972 with Flagship Cruises, and was called VENTURE ISLAND. In 1974 it was sold to P & O Princess Cruises with the twin SEA VENTURE, and were renamed ISLAND PRINCESS and PACIFIC PRINCESS respectively. These two vessels were the protagonists of the sit com "The Love Boat" although the most commonly used was the Pacific Princess. The ISLAND VENTURE in 1999 was sold to Hyundai of South Korea and renamed HYUNDAI PUNGAK and was used to transport pilgrims from South Korea to religious sites in North Korea. PLATINUM was renamed and underwent major work restailing between 2001 to 2003. Since 2003, renamed the ship DISCOVERY is managed by the cruise company Voyages of Discovery Harwich, England whose purpose is mainly voyages of discovery, these cruises and sells mainly to the British, Americans, Canadians, Australians, New Zealanders and South Africans
