La
Signora del Vento è stata costruita nel 1962 e denominata
GOPLO. Per circa 30 anni ha operato nei mari del Nord e nei
Caraibi. Dall'inizio degli anni 90 è stata impiegata come Nave
Scuola nei mari di tutto il mondo, ed ha partecipato ad innumerevoli
raduni di navi a vela. Nel 2006 è stata completamente ristrutturata
dalla Società Italiana di Navigazione proprietaria della nave,
per adeguarla agli standard di sicurezza richiesti per l'ottenimento
della bandiera italiana e all'iscrizione nei Registri Italiani. Nel
dicembre del 2016 è stata donata, dalla Società M.AR.TE.
del gruppo delle Acque minerali Uliveto – Brio blu – Rocchetta,
all'Istituto di Istruzione Secondaria Superiore "Giovanni Caboto"
di Gaeta che, con finanziamenti ottenuti dal MIUR nell’ambito
dei “Laboratori territoriali per l’occupabilità”,
lo ha rivisitato e adattato per essere impiegato per attività
di addestramento
a bordo per gli allievi della scuola.
Il 17.11.2019 a causa delle forti mareggiate e pessime condizioni meteo nel pomeriggio dopo avere rotto gli ormeggi si è incagliata nel porto di Gaeta (Lt).
La
Signora del Vento was built in 1962 and named GOPLO. For
about 30 years you have operated in the North Seas and the Caribbean.
Since the beginning of the 90s she has been employed as a training
ship in the seas around the world, and has participated in countless
sailing ship meetings. In 2006 she was completely restructured by
the Italian Navigation Company that owns the ship, to bring it into
line with the safety standards required for obtaining the Italian
flag and for registration in the Italian Registers. In December 2016
she was donated by the M.AR.TE. of the Uliveto - Brio blu - Rocchetta
mineral water group, at the Institute of Higher Secondary Education
"Giovanni Caboto" in Gaeta which, with funding obtained
from MIUR in the context of the "Territorial laboratories for
employability", has revisited and adapted it to be used for on-board
training activities for school pupils.
On 17.11.2019 due to heavy storms and bad weather conditions in the afternoon after breaking the moorings she ran aground in the port of Gaeta (Lt).
