Questa unità islandese varata a Dannebrog Vaerft, Arhus il 10.10.1974 ed entrata in servizio il 15.03.1978, subì l'allungamento del ponte di volo in Polonia nel 2001 mentre la sua gemella AEGIR nel 2006.

Icelandic offshore patrol vessel ICGV Tyr. IMO 7358420, MMSI 251001000 and callsign TFGA, Launched at the Dannebrog Vaerft, Arhus, Denmark on 10 October 1974, commissioned on 15 March 1978, flight deck extended in 1797 and modified in Poland in 2001 and 2006. Sister ship Aegir. Fishery protection vessel. With a displacement of 1.233 tons/1.214 long tons and as dimensions 71,15 x 10 x 5,8 metres or 233’5”x 33’ x 10’. Speed 20 knots. Her crew numbers 16-19 men. The armament consists of 1-4cm Bofors (originally 1-5,7cm Hotchkiss)gun and 1 helicopter.
