Questo
sommergibile ex USS PICKEREL (SS 524) classe Tench/GUPPY fu
varato 15.12.1944 ed entrato in servizio nel 1949. Fu convertito in
un tipo Guppy sottomarino II, nel 1963 rimodernato e aggiornato a
GUPPY III. Nel 1972 fu dismesso e venduto all'Italia e rinominato
PRIMO LONGOBARDO
This former submarine USS PICKEREL (SS 524) Tench class / GUPPY was launched on 15.12.1944 and entered into service in 1949. It was converted to a Guppy submarine type II, remodeled in 1963 and upgraded to GUPPY III. In 1972 it was decommissioned and sold to Italy and renamed before LONGOBARDO
